This 12" single feature 2 tracks from the Life soundtrack from 1999. produced by R. Kelly & Wyclef Jean. The first track is 25 to Life by Xzibit, Juvenile, Nature, Ja Rule, & Reptile. The second track is Life by K-Ci & JoJo.

I don't remember where I purchased this single but it was from a used record store in Hawaii or California. I was interested in this single because the intro track to the soundtrack (25 To Life) is an amazing rap track.

25 to Life is performed by a cast of 5 rappers that sound like they should be Mortal Kombat characters. Notably, this is one of Ja Rule's early tracks just as he was getting famous and dropping his first album. Unfortunately, 25 to Life on the CD album is censored. I think this 12” single is the only media where an uncensored version was released.

This single also features a remix of K-Ci & JoJo's Life. The remix's instrumental features an interpolation of Wu-Tang Clan's C.R.E.A.M., and for good reason. The rap verse is by Inspectah Deck. Oddly, there is no credit anywhere on the single indicating that he is featured.

This is the full uncensored version.

A3. 25 to Life (Instrumental)

This is the instrumental with the only vocals being the sample: "For every rhyme I write, it's 25 to life."

This is the acappella of the uncensored version.

B1. Life (Re-Mix Main)

This is the remix of Life where the instrumental has been swapped with an interpolation of Wu-Tang Clan's C.R.E.A.M. The vocals are the same as the original version.

B2. Life (Re-Mix w/rap)

This is similar to the regular remix but after the breakdown, there is a rap verse by Inspectah Deck replacing several repetitions of the chorus.

B3. Life (Re-Mix) (Instrumental)

This is the instrumental version of the remix.

This is the acappella version of the Re-Mix Main version.
